Class 3 and 4 have been learning about symbols in Hinduism this half term. This afternoon we had a fantastic afternoon learning about Diwali and the story of Rama and Sita. To get Pilsley ready for Diwali the children created lots of artwork using their understanding of Hindu symbols. Miss Davison was on the look out for lotus flowers, the most important symbol as it plays a key role in the creation story. The children designed henna mehndi patterns, used chalk to make a rangoli pattern and moulded a diva lamp out of clay. Their work was absolutely fantastic!
Thanks again to the parent volunteers that came along to help out this afternoon.
