Newsletter - 16.09.2022

Dear Parents and Carers,

Please see a flyer attached regarding the Y6 Lady Manners open evening next Thursday, Eley fitness as well as this week's 'Star of the week' awards.

You may have noticed that your child/children will have come home with a form from Tempest photography this week with details of how to order individual photographs. Please contact the office if you have any queries about this.

Harvest festival collection and harvest services in church- Sunday 2nd October

Canon Dave has asked if any of our children would like to do a reading at the harvest festival services on Sunday 2nd October. Canon Dave would like a reader for the 10.45am service at Edensor church and the 3pm service at Beeley church. If your child would like to read at either service, please contact the school office early next week.

There is also a list of items attached to this email which we are collecting as part of the Padley Centre in Derby's Harvest campaign. The Padley Centre support and empower those who are affected by homelessness and poverty in order to improve their lives. We would very much appreciate any donations from the attached list being brought to church on 2nd October. Alternatively, donations can be brought into school on Friday 30th September instead.

Holiday Requests during term time

A reminder of the statutory attendance legislation implemented by the government in September 2013 - Headteachers are unable to authorise holidays during term time, for children of statutory school age, unless there are exceptional circumstances. Schools are required to submit unauthorised absence information to the Local Authority which may result in a fixed penalty notice, please see information attached to this e-mail.

Just a final reminder that school is closed on Monday to mark the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II. We look forward to seeing everyone back at school on Tuesday.

Kind regards,

Miss C Green

School Business Officer

At this sad time, our thoughts and prayers are with The Royal Family, all those loved by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and all those who loved her.
