Pilsley C of E School

Toddlers

We re lucky to have an independent Toddler Group that meets every Friday morning during term time 9.00 - 10.30 in the school hall. The school provides the hall free of charge but a small charge of £2 per child (a charge of £1.50 is made for any siblings) is made to cover the cost of craft activities, snack and a hot drink for the adults. This group is run by two of our parents, Hollie Philip-Smith and Emma Coleman.

We welcome all pre-school children and babies with their carers. It is a very friendly group, where the children play together and the carers have the chance to chat.

The session has general informal play with the many toys, which may include ride-ons, dolls, tunnel, building bricks etc. There is also a separate area of the hall with toys and mats for babies. Every week there is the opportunity for the children to try a craft activity - often involving lots of paint and glue!

The table is then cleared for snack time - usually healthy fruit, bread and water to drink, although we do have the odd treat! The adults can enjoy a hot drink while the children are busy with their snack. The session ends with singing.

We also have a trip to the farmyard at Chatsworth during the year and a party at Christmas.

If you require any further information, please contact the school on 01246 583203 where we will pass a message on to either Hollie or Emma.
