“The children of Pilsley CofE School joined the vicar and some of the congregation of St Anne’s , Beeley to plant three new oak trees on 11th March 2016. Two were planted by Mrs Gladys Hopkins, the oldest member of the congregation, in memory of her husband, Dennis Hopkins and in thanksgiving of herself. The third tree was planted by Georgina Sherwood, the youngest pupil at Pilsley, in thanksgiving for the Church’s Reader, Vernon Mather MBE. Both Georgina and Gladys were assisted by all the children present.”
