Pilsley C of E School

Kenyan School Twinning

It was lovely to welcome Becky Lynn who joined us for collective worship on Tuesday morning after returning from her travels in Kenya. We are really pleased that Becky has established a link for us with Mindililwo Primary School whilst she was there. Becky took some letters which our children had written to the pupils as well as some friendship bracelets which the children had made. She brought in an envelope full of letters which the Mindililwo pupils had written for us so the junior children now have a penpal too! During collective worship, the children were shown a series of photographs and videos which Becky had taken when she visited the school a few weeks ago. The children were pretty amazed to find out that it costs 37,000 Kenyan shillings to install electricity which in pounds sterling is only £274.75!

Our Collective Worship Theme this half term is:
‘Generosity’

Our collective worship theme this half term is ‘Generosity’ and in keeping with this value, the school council are keen to help Mindililwo by aiming to raise the full amount themselves. They will be writing to parents in due course to ask for your help with their fundraising ideas!

Welcome to Pilsley Church of England School's website. We hope you enjoy looking at the range of excellent educational experiences which we provide. If you wish to contact the school to make an enquiry, please ring 01246 583203 or email school@pilsleycofe.derbyshire.sch.uk
