This half term our topic focus is Muck, mess and mixtures:
Let’s get messy! Muck and mess is good! In fact, it’s megamarvellous!
Dive in and get your hands and feet all sticky and covered in paint. Play with liquids, squish some dough and check out the slushiest and mushiest foods.
This project has a creative development and science focus and engages the children in sensory exploration of materials.
The children will have the opportunity to learn about:
The properties of materials.
How materials can be manipulated.
What happens when materials are mixed together.
How materials can be changed.
The children will also explore materials to investigate a range of art and craft techniques and to learn about the work of famous artists.
This topic also offers opportunities for literacy work linked to Roald Dahl's George's Marvellous Medicine and Revolting Recipes and the chance to use our capacity and measuring skills.
